About me - Jane Ratford, MA, MBACP

I am a NHS and WPF (Westminster Pastoral Foundation) trained psychotherapist and counsellor.

I completed a Post Graduate Diploma and Masters Degree in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the NHS Tavistock and Portman Clinic in Hampstead. Previously, I had completed a three year WPF and BACP accredited training in Psychodynamic Counselling at the Herts and Beds Training Foundation in St Albans.

I have recently completed an honorary psychotherapist position at the NHS Tavistock Clinic as part of my advanced training; previous to which I had completed a two year honorary position with a St Albans secondary care NHS mental health unit where I practised long term therapy.


My teaching

I currently hold a university lecturer position on the BSc Psychology course at the University of Hertfordshire teaching theories of personality and schools of psychotherapy to undergraduates. I also supervise post-graduate dissertations.

Previously, I have taught at the Newham University Centre on the Open University accredited Integrative Counselling Degree.

I have a BA Hons Degree in Philosophy.

Before working clinically, I worked in policy and research and I maintain an interest in social research and communications.
